Oumar Kebe - What a distinguished gentleman. Extremely clear and well spoken.

Without a doubt the easiest recommendation in Dakar for sightseeing if one has limited time, or even if you're visiting for an extended period of time.

Some key points of the very fairly priced day trip/tour:

A no compromise trip to Gorée Island with a lovely lunch. A heartbreaking but incredible experience I will always remember.

A trip around the city to visit key landmarks.

Highly HIGHLY recommended.a

Thank you again Oumar.

Also recommended for airport transfer. Very neat car and priced the same or better than taxis.

This was our first time to Senegal and we enjoyed our day on Goree.
It was a Sunday and the ferry runs 2hrly crossing of 20mins. We payed 500XFO towards council fee and 5,200 xfo for ferry ticket return. Everyone jostled for seat on top deck for better views when sailing. The island is picturesque on arrival. We gota guide before embarking on boat.
Our guide gave us all sad history of this no-car-little island. However for today people are living there quiete happily
We had a nice meal before leaving g after 4 hours

This was my very first trip to Senegal and during this trip, I had the distinct pleasure of touring with Oumar. Oumar completed a riveting tour!!! The weather held out nicely, you should wear comfortable shoes to fully enjoy the experience. Oumar ensured that I walked at my own pace and that was wonderful. He was prompt in the hotel pick up and courteous at all times. Professional in every aspect, fun loving spirit, humble, excellent articulation skills, gracious, are a few things that I witnessed in Oumar.

He provided countless details of the history of the slave trade on Goree Island with such detail and passion that I felt the anguish of those who suffered so violently. Oumar remained professional in his depiction of the horrific treatment of slaves and explained in detail the quarters used, the food eaten, etc. I listened in awe of his expertise and loved his ability to answer questions, never feeling rushed and very comfortable with the manner in which he explained the history. I truly learned a great deal.

I witnessed paintings from beginning to end made out of clay like materials, learned about various fruits and trees, and had a great time shopping on Goree Island, I could go on forever!

I will sum this up by saying that I have traveled to many countries and this tour was the very best that I have experienced to date. I encourage all readers to make contact with Oumar if you’re planning to visit the Senegal area he’s truly the best! You will not be disappointed.

Oumar, thanks so much for this life changing experience, I will never forget this tour!

I was at Dakar for work and had little less than one day free to go around and decided to take Oumar as I guide to show me around. This was the best thing I could have ever done! Oumar was very professional but at the same time a very nice and warm person. He was very punctual (waiting for me in my hotel quite before the meeting time) and always made me feel safe, welcomed and comfortable, although being a young woman traveling alone. He is very passionate about his job, speaks perfect English and really did everything to make my day a memorable day. Although he has (by the time being) just a few reviews in Trip advisor I was very glad to see that he has many, many years of experience in the sector. Thanks again Oumar for this great day together!
