Lovely craft locally made pieces but quite expensive though especially if you are a foreigner. Go ready to bargain. Got some lovely pieces. Visited March 2017

The market is just for tourists. Even with haggling, the prices are still higher than other markets like Kimironko. I've found the shop owners unlikely to go more than 20% off, while that still leaves things above market. That said, it is still a convenient...More

Lots of the places sell the same items but it is worth looking around; you can check the prices in different stalls and some items are slightly different! Don't be afraid to barter!

For all sorts of Rwandan souvenirs and crafts, be sure to come here. Be willing to barter a little. There is a big variety, fromm lovely cards and postcards to figures, carvings and paintings. Take an animal home - lots of choices

I bought a lot of great handmade gifts here. A lot of fun people selling an eclectic mix of local items from a series of small shops.

Cash would be best as I didn't see anyone taking cards and I suspect would be more appropriate for haggling. In terms of how much to take it depends on what you want to buy but aim to keep your cash secure
