Working in Windhoek for long periods of time makes one go back to the same place more than once. For a relaxed chilled experience, this is the place to go. If you are a big group, prebook a table as they pump every evening. Wear...More

You have in this beerhouse a great time when going for the atmosphere. As a restaurant pre-booking is required, up weeks in the high tourist season. We were seated on a table with others who were already ready eating and waiting for the bill and...More

The atmosphere and decoration are fantastic: several spaces like open bungalows, some shared tables. We had a multi-meat skewer that was a great introduction to namibian game, our neighbours were enjoying multi grilled meats. The service was fine.

A total tourist trap. A Disneyland version of Africa full of entrapped tourists. Everything is expensive, London prices for badly cooked pub food. The Weissbeer (which they had run out of) was also London prices. Totally blatant and shocking milking of tourists. My chicken and...More

It's hard to explain what Joe's Beerhouse is like. There's a mokoro and an outhouse (with an actual toilet inside) at the front, while inside, the walls are lined with stuffed animal trophies, old pieces of farming equipment and empty Jaegermeister bottles which visitors have...More
