This museum is one of the major attraction of Maputo which is located to the Ferry Harbour. It is within walking distance to the fish Museum, Park and other attractions.

The "Museu Nacional da Moeda" is housed at "Casa Amarela" ("Yellow House", in English), a building dating from 1860 and probably the oldest one in Maputo. Fortunately there was an employee at the museum who spoke excellent English and explained all exhibits. The signs itself are in Portuguese only. Interesting and fun to learn about the history of money.
