On arrival we departed 15 minutes late. The trip met the least of our expectations. The food was basically inedible. The “beef” if you could call it that was horrible- no flavor and simply cheap cut offs. The drink prices were of a 5 star...More

Different options are available to go to Xefina Requena. There is a large boat (displayed on the picture) that organises one-day trips to Xefina (a few kilometers away from Maputo's shores). But you can also take a taxi to the fishermen beach just outside Maputo...More

I've been going to Xefina for years. Anice close by spot especially when it's windy and one can't cross the bay. Plenty of sea birds and flamingos... its usually a safe, quiet and cosy.... until the dhow Sanjeeda showed up... lot's of loud music, noisy...More

This island is not so far away from Maputo. It is sandy, with mangroove and bushes only. Once there was a prison here, but didnt find much left from those building. It is inhabited and very quiet. Fantastic. But remember, not much shade in the...More

Long story short: yes, we'd go again We went with a large group of friends on a Sanjeeda Cruise day-trip. The wooden dhow didn't raise her sails, rather used her engines - it was still a great trip (approx. 100 minutes each way) from the...More

We visited Xefina Island on 30/03/2013 with a group of friends. The island itself is lovely, but the service from the tour operators leaves MUCH to be desired. After being given a bit of a run-around by Mozaic Travel, they palmed us off on Mozambique...More
