If you're interested in philately this is the place for you. A good history of the postal service and some interesting old pictures of the island. I did think the entrance fee was a little pricey given what we saw.

This is a relatively small museum at the furthest end of the Caudian Waterfront from the city, but has a lot of interesting information on the history of the island as well as the history of the postal service. On the ground floor there are a lot of naval exhibits, including navigation instruments and maps with lots of information to... More

We ended up coming to the Museum while walking at the Port Louis water promenade. The Museum will excite stamp collectors but others can give it a miss. Indian visitors can get a discount on the ticket price.

I think this is a place worth visiting. Theme of the musem (Red and Blue Penny stamps) are attractive to almost all and at evet age. However, stamps are not the only exhibited things. You will find some nautical books, pictures, stories told by people who lived in Mauritius, many paintings with fish and their descriptions. Nic, small museum. No... More

Rs250 per entry for adults. Standard museum entry fee for a lot of attractions in Mauritius. I guess the highlight for many is the original blue penny stamps but if you are not a stamp collector then you have just the history to occupy your time in there.

Interesting historical museum in the city centre, about the blue penny stamp and the post in Mauritius. The ticket is quite cheap, 245 rupees, the visit takes almost one hour. It's located on the seafront, easy to find. Nice and well kept, always interesting, a piece of the local history

I had read several reviews and looked online and this museum is listed as a must see, so I found it a little underwhelming. I really enjoy small informative museums and this place certainly fits the bill and is located at the Le Caudan waterfront, which adds to the visit. Signage and explanations are very good providing a very good... More
