    Great place to visit.
Crazy cheap car parking (£1 for 4 hours!) A lovely chilled place to visit with lots of shops and places to eat, drink and chill. Good underpass to get to the main town area too.

    Not our cup of tea
This place is photogenic and has a nice quality feel, but it doesn’t really fit with the rest of the Island and feels it is trying to cater to western tourists rather than giving them the opportunity to experience the country as it is. The big flashy vegas style casino in the middle of it kind of sums it up. Not a lot to do there other than shop, and the craft market was oppressive with them all shouting at you trying to force you to buy things. We just rushed through as we didn’t like the harassment, so I’ve no idea if what they were selling was good or well priced. Glad I went, but no desire to return.

Lovely waterfront with some photogenic spots
The waterfront is clean and well laid out. The shops are definitely aimed at tourists though and quite pricy. Nearby is a local market that feels more authentic (although the vendors can be a little pushy so beware!)

    Le Caudan Waterfront
Another visit to the waterfront. It had some redevelopment work done since our last visit. The craft market was a work in progress. We had an enjoyable stroll. There were these umbrellas hanging which made for a good photo op. We had some snacks and did some browsing in the stores.

    Good food and shopping
It was nice to spend a few hours at Le Caudan walking around the umbrella area and we had a good few options where to have lunch. The shopping was good too. There is enough paid parking which was reasonable priced.

Eat Pizza Hut there... but safety TAPE!?
We took the Metro Express to get here. We had Pizza Hut there which was good but safety TAPE!? They should've fixed the loose bars or Belal/Candice shouldn't have existed. At Pizza Hut I had a pepperoni pizza and a Fanta. You can see ships, the bulk sugar terminal. Great parking; park on level 3 and get a pay ticket. Be careful you may get pissed off with broken 3 machine.

While not exceptionally remarkable, the area featured a display of vibrant umbrellas suspended in the air, ideal for picturesque moments. Numerous malls surrounded the place, offering a variety of items, including souvenirs, clothing, and restaurants. A short walk led to the waterfront, where sailing boats were moored, making it a pleasant spot for a leisurely afternoon stroll.

We asked our local tour operator for a place to buy spices and he bought us to a small shop inside the mall. For 3 bags of curry and tandoori spices plus 21 grams of vanilla gourmet, we were shocked to see we were asked MUR 21’000, which is about EUR 450! Beware of the scam prices!

We found Port Louis to be very clean and not too busy - we booked a taxi from our hotel that morning due to the rain which was on and off for most of our day trip. The waterfront was clean and interesting but I feel an hour is sufficient to wander and take it in. We spent 90 minutes here as we also had lunch on the waterfront - there is a food court with lots of options - the Pizza Hut takeaway smelt delicious so we happily opted for that but pizzas are cooked to order so it took a while. There are toilets in the centre which had a long queue for the Ladies -they were clean. As well as the craft market there were shops selling a good variety of crystals, toiletries and some clothing items. Probably wouldn’t return but glad we went.

This was a lovely place to visit. It was clean and tidy and had a range of different places to shop in and see. It is quite expensive which is one down side.
