We enjoyed walking around the crater and looking down on the lake from different angles. Superb views of the island from all sides too. Takes less than an hour to walk all the way around so combine with other visits in the area. Parking is...More

Offers great scenery which makes for some good photos. Takes an hour at most to get done with. Easy to travel to with all ages. Try to cover this as a side excursion.

Its just a crater that we were taken to as a part of south island tour. Nothing special about it. Its just a nice view. Looks like you are looking at a valley covered in green from up top.

Nice enough views from the top - but it's not that dramatic...for that go to the Black River Gorges. Saying that, it's free - so don't feel cheated in any way....

Trou Aux Cerfs is located 605 metres above sea level, offering great views of the surrounding countryside, as well as the crater itself. The crater is filled by a small lake and features lush green vegetation. A 20 minute photo stop required here.

We visited the crater as part of the set tour of the south west. Probably would not bother if it was not part of the tour. While the crater will take you all of 5 minutes to see, the views of Mare aux Vacoas, Rose...More

Nice crater full of vegetation, not very big but quite interesting. Amazing views of the south coast of the island.

The dormant volcano, also called Murr's volcano, with a well defined crater and cone is heavily wooded, filled with water and covered with foliage, collected from the frequent rain that takes place. The crater, which is a popular tourist site is interesting but the distance...More
