This was a lovely place. On arrival there are two giant statues - one of the god Shiva and they are in the process of building a statue of his wife next to him. I have never seen such large statues - higher than a four story building I would guess. The holy lakes were peaceful and the temples were... More

Beautiful lake with the temple of worship on side and giant stature at front. One doesn't need to be a believer to enjoy the site and admire the view of lake and surrounding.

A must see place. Tranquil, peaceful,colourful.. for us and my eleven year old niece, a spiritual experience.. We are not Hindus but we're welcomed by the priest and local people to join the prayers..really lovely feeling.. Take bread to feed the fish in the lake.. The monkeys were so very funny and made everyone laugh.. Spectacular, massive lord shiva statue..... More

Unique statue. Interesting statues of other gods there. 1 monkey hanging out. We went in the rain and it was still good.

It was fairly quiet when we visited but our guide advised that there is one week in the year when 400,000 pilgrims will visit - no wonder there are some great roads and massive car parks out in this part of the Black River Gorges National Park !!! There are two massive statues (c 200 ft tall) on the approach... More

No visit to the beautiful Mauritius is considered complete , unless you visit Ganga Talao. It is said originally Indian Origin Forefathers of present day Mauritiuans, brought Ganga Jal from Haridwar in India & made this beautiful Talao , a substitute of that divine River Ganga , which is well revered by all in Mauritius. The surroundings are so calm... More

What an amazing site! These amazing and huge statues looming ahead on a beautiful nature drive. The temple area is also very nice and worth a visit. Beautiful but would have liked it to be a bit more serene.... I felt quite sorry for the people who go there to worship as it is a bit overrun with tourists not... More

Nice place to spend time with your family. An hour of visit for couples to sit near pond and pray to god . Its clean and green, not much activities to do , just the road views are quite good on the way to temple. completely green belt. Can plan a visit during south tour.

Nice place for a break on the white sand beachs of Mauritius. Spend few moments here, to feel the energy and to be blessed by the hindu Gods. It could be included on a trip to or from Chamarel, Le Morne and the West beaches.
