I liked this place!! It has all sort of animals, from snakes to Lemures, to crocodiles and turtles, very old ones!! It even has tombs of different parts of Madagascar. Really nice. And it is in the city!!

I love going to this place on Saturday afternoons where I can enjoy spending time with lemurs, animals and seeing birds and watching plants and trees.

The zoo itself is very dirty, animals are all skinny. It was full of people during the day I was there (Sunday).

We learned how fig trees co-exist with palm trees; saw several boabab trees; and touched the plant that is called Napoleon hat. The tour lasted 1,5 hours with a short break at the cafe. On... More

Though I am usually against zoos because they lock up animals in cages, The Tsimbazaza Zoo and Botanical Park keeps some of the animals in cages and some in islets that have no fences so they can live freely inside the park. The Zoo offers various species of endemic animals and flora to Madagascar which you would need to travel... More

Is a zoo, a botanical garden and even some kind of archaeological collection. The cages are small, but you can find some islands more open to the lemmurs and birds. You can buy some raffia gifts (a really good price)

Having just arrived in Tana someone suggested a day here. I wish i hadn't listened! The animals were mostly kept poorly and seemed very distressed in cages far to small and overcrowded. The 'guides' were useless. The park itself is a nice stroll if you need a park type environment to relax but you'd be better off driving for an... More
