    A must when in Ghana
Every visitor to Accra should take the time to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Beside the masoleum and gardens, the museums give you a glimpse into his life and contributions to the history of Ghana and its independence from Great Britain. You also read his quotes which emphasize his quest for pan African independence and collaboration.

    Worth the Wait
What an amazing job they’ve done, interpreting this historic and incredibly important site. All the upgrades are informative, relevant, meaningful, and powerful for the visitors. The time and the thought that went into updating this memorial site is truly a tribute to a man who is so important in African history and history itself. I was very proud to take part in this tour.

    A massive YES
Everything about this was astounding. The park itself is thoughtfully set out so groups aren't on top of each other, and the tour guides, well, I don't have enough good things to say about Perpetual. Just so great. If you're in Accra or even passing through, this is a must. If you lack melanin, take a hat, it's mostly outdoors.

This is a ‘must not miss’ if one ever visits Accra. Well kept gardens. air conditioned interiors, where you take a journey with the man himself from birth to death. The interior was so informative (legible writings along the walls) and well-organised. The exteriors so delightful! I really enjoyed this one. Well worth the buck.

Glad to see this memorial restored!
In my 2016 review I expressed my disappointment at the neglect observed since my 2006 visit. I am thrilled to see that the restoration and addition has been completed. We opted to take the guided tour. Our guide could have been a bit more engaging, but he was definitely knowledgeable about the material presented. The main entry hall is large and well lit, with beautiful art. Bathrooms are clean and conveniently located. The gift shop is stocked with lots of local artifacts (although many can be purchased at lower negotiated prices at the art center next door). The grounds are well maintained and fountains are back in operation. The main museum is sectioned off by colors denoting the various stages of Nkrumah’s life. I don’t remember this being the case before, but it could be that I’ve just forgotten. We did not visit the cafe. Well done.

This is a must see museum if you’re visiting Accra.

When visiting Ghana there are a lot of references to Ghana’s founding father, but this museum tells you the story of Kwame Nkrumah’s life and fight for Ghana to gain its independence. A small but beautiful piece of history.
