Busy local market with everything from plastic buckets through to locally made goods. Fun to haggle but don't over do it, people need to make a living. All the smells and sounds of Addis Ababa.

Good advise - Visit Sholla Market to experience a true Ethiopian Day to Day Market. The Sholla Market is a maze of alleys filled with life and products; friendly traders selling vegetables, spices, frankincense, traditional dresses along Chinese T shirts and jeans, Ethiopian woven baskets...More

Shola market is bustling! You can find everything from food and spices, to clothing and home goods. It’s worth a visit but I recommend traveling their with a guide. Wear covered shoes and beware of pickpockets.

Sunday morning is a lot less chaotic and crowded, although that also means less vendors and stores. The market offers everything from the fermented banana, coffee, spices, clothes, and basically anything you can think of needing. Most of the vendors didn’t mind you poking around...More

Smaller and less chaotic than the more famous Merkako. If you like to spend time wandering through markets just to see what there is, this is a good place to go. Spices, lentils, coffee, fruits and vegetables, kitchen wares, clothing... Really enjoyed it.

Go-to market for baskets, coffee ceremony supplies and non-traditional clothing. A little bit of everything here and a great cultural experience.

I found several good bargains in Shola Market. It is the first market of choice by my family in Addis as it's not as crowded as Merkarto Market
