About
Located within the National Grand Palace, Unity Park offers travelers the opportunity to learn about nature and Ethiopian history and culture. Here, you can view historical buildings and artifacts, learn about indigenous plants at the traditional garden, and check out the exotic animals at the zoo, including the endemic black mane lion. There are also a couple of restaurants or cafes where you can refuel throughout the day. You need a ticket to enter the park, but there are various packages available that include a palace tour and even photography. You can visit on a full-day Addis Ababa city tour, that includes admission to the park. – Tripadvisor

    An Oasis Within Addis Ababa
This park is like an oasis within Addis. It was our first visit and it is unlike anything we've experienced within Ethiopia. It was beautiful, clean, and well-kept. The flowers were beautiful, the displays informative, the animals were entertaining, and the palace was stunning. I was particularly impressed by the throne room. Simply gorgeous! I definitely recommend a visit. The only disappointment was that, even though someone in our party was ethnically Ethiopian and born in Ethiopia, because they now had citizenship elsewhere, we were charged a more expensive price. It really makes the park unaffordable for tourists with a family to visit.

Park, Historical Center, Zoo in middle of Addis Ababa
We stayed nearby, so we just walked to this park. Not knowing there was an actual entrance, we braved crossing the street around 9am, made it to right outside the stairs for this attraction. The guard tried to explain to us that we couldn't enter there, but needed to go across the street and enter through a tunnel. The park is on the grounds of former government residences. Our tickets, $20/per person, allowed us into most of the area minus the VIP-ticket-only home of Emperor Menelik. Both my partner and I were offput by the staff. We didn't find them friendly or welcoming at all. The zoo was OK. Having been to other places in Africa, this zoo was really lacking a lot of pizzaz and various animals. The signage was strange, and the way to walk through the facility was maze-like. If we had to do it again, we would probably not visit here, especially for the price.

    Amazing experience
This was a mind boggling experience. I highly recommend it as a bucket list experience. Normally you would have to go outside of the capital, Addis Ababa, for this experience but they purposely wanted to whet your appetite for all of Ethiopia by what they presented in unity in Addis. I LOVED IT and so did my 20 year old son. It was so amazing.

    Wonderful
As a point of historical interest, this is by far the best place to visit in Addis Ababa. Grounds are immaculately kept, and friendly staff are on hand to render assistance as necessary. The torture rooms located at the bottom of the Palace carry a particularly harrowing resonance. A visit requires approximately 3-4 hours to experience all the benefits. The historical background of the place is absolutely fascinating.

Just had an amazing time. It took me an hour to go around and see everything, don't rush it as i did. I would really want to take my time next time, to just relax, have a coffee and do brunch, there is a lot of options, if you're searching for a cafe as well. Coming back soon!

Unity Park is one of the must-see attraction in the busy Addis Ababa! It's massive but easily explored by foot and well appointed. Old and modern history of the city are evident.

Most unfriendly experience I have ever had in Ethiopia and I have been here for two years now! I do not know how such a ticketing stuff can be employed - I got to know Ethiopians to be friendly and accommodating - something the stuff there is not representing.. I don't know how such stuff at the entrance can be employed for a park which is called 'unity'.. I am really disappointed!
