This Cathedral is very old and was built by the Italians when Eritrea was a colony. The exterior and interior are both very beautiful. I used to go to church here often and the priests are very friendly and kind people. My parents ate dinner with the priests. It's been over 7 years since I've last been there but if... More

One of the many art deco, Cathedral of Asmara is very nice from outside and inside. I am not an architect but the details inside the prayer of the cathedral are amazing. And if you will rest on the many stairs of the cathedral (facing the Harnet Ave) and enjoy the vibe and peace of Asmara.

The only place in Asmara where you can attend a Roman Catholic mass in Roman liturgy, in Italian. Typical atmosphere of an Italian church.

If you travel wisely and have someone in the City as your guide and contact Asmara is safe and very welcoming. It isn't really set up for tourists which is great. Observe respect but covering up completely is not required.... More

Stunning and and very beautiful cathedral on Liberation Avenue, the main boulevard in the capital. At times, it can be crowded inside as well as on the steps outside. Well worth a stop as you stroll down Liberation Avenue.
