With a bell tower that reaches high into the sky, the Cathedral of Asmara is a sterling piece of Lombard-Romanesque architecture and a useful bearing point for lost travelers.

I have no idea why Eritreans would enjoy such a feature in heir country, a city that's a reminder of the horrid Italian rule.

One of Asmara’s finest architectural buildings from the 1930’s, sitting over a large area, with exquisite frescoes and prominent tower that can be seen from any part of the city. It is one of the capital city’s outstanding landmarks. Up on entering its inside chamber, one is reminded of the many eminent cathedrals in Rome and other parts of Italy. It is no wonder that Asmara is sometimes aptly dubbed as ‘Little Rome’.

Nice building, easy walkable to on clean and well paved walkway. The tower was unfortunately closed, but it seems there is a good view on the town. In the court is a Kindergarten.

Can't miss this one if you´re in Asmara. In a very good shape compared to other buildings in Asmara. I think the clock tower was the most impressive. Like Big Ben.

This building is one good looking complex and the towns basic landmark. Everyone knows how to get to and it is also easy to get there. There are constant prayers on schedules in this cathedral but there are also very kind to allow tourists in while they continue their prayers.

Should visit.

Like many, we didn't get to visit the cathedral because it was closed. But the building is an important city landmark and well used, we were told, by locals

It is a nice old building and a landmark place. Most of the time it was closed so we could not go inside. May be they are open only on few days whenever there is a mass.
