Town beach with gray yellow sand, it is small but well laid out, supervised with a beautiful bar and restaurant giving character to the place, few people swimming in this place, the quality of the water in full city with sewerage flowing into it
HM hm!!

It's a nice beach and is thankfully being kept clean. Water is practically lukewarm as February is a hot month in Praia. Use plenty of sunscreen.

Although there are no really nice beaches in Praia this one is the best of all. With a nice view in the light house. During the week it is very calm and there are just a Few people. Also a lifeguard is sometimes there. But make sure to wear swimming shoes! There are tiny pieces of glas in the sand.

And if you walk around the corner Towards the lighthouse you see stairs leading you to a tiny hidden peace of beach which is clean and emtpy.

That means, there is not so much choice when you look for a beach in Praia. There is a little shade, not to much. The best place to be is at the bars just above it where you have a nice view..

This is a bigger beach than Kebra Canela, and its easy to get there. Although this is in Cape Verde, the only beach that we went that had real clear blue water and almost white sand was Tarrafal (on the other side of the island). There are other islands that have a much more tropical feeling, but don't be disappointed if you don't find those kind of beaches near Praia.

Prainha Beach is a tiny slice of sand in Praia in the international part of town. We found it to be packed with locals, and some foreigners. There were locals selling some basic foodstuffs. There's a decent amount of trash and litter and the water doesn't look particularly clean. On the second day there was a huge party and hundreds of drunk people, one of which verbally harassed us. Overall it's a fairly nice little section of Praia, but honestly, I don't recommend this place.

very windy . the sand blast your body and you can not stay without head cover.
beach was clean but not white sand.
the Terasse Bar/Restaurant was nice though. Good beer.
Water was super! not crowdy. take a taxi from city center. Dont pay more than 1 us per person. The other beach , write in the center has no restaurant/ bar and looks not so nice.
From bank in the center you turn left and then go down stairs and there is the other beach. We have seen that one and then took a taxi /short ride to Prainha Beach. it was worth it.

It used to be the best beach in Praia until the big building (a hotel to be) spoiled the overall atmosphere (in my humble opinion)

They're clearly making an effort to keep this beach clean and make it as attractive as possible and it's working. It's in a protected bay so a great place for families with kids and swimmers who'd rather not attempt the open ocean. A fairly easy stroll from the city centre.

This is the best beach in the south of Santiago with Praia shoping close by and bars and shops close by.
