City Hall right in the centre of the plateau is a striking building of Portuguese architectural style. It overlooks the main square and is one of several imposing buildings in Praia.

Unfortunately a little too obscured/hard to get a decent wideshot for photos of the building alone, since the colour and design deserve it, but still worth a look.

The City Hall is one of the most important buildings in the Plateau, in the portuguese colonial architectural style.

Faces a busy street, but if walking it is also in front of a beautiful restful park with vendors of everything from coco water to candy and ice cream. There is street parking around and just a short walk around the corner is the President's House.

A wonderful tour and sadly on our return a month later there was not time to do this tour again. The hour long tour in the town and the remaining time showing us the countryside and Banana Road with its lovely little cottages and banana trees with a chance to sample the local licquers and then visit the beach market was very interesting and nice to visit.

The City Hall is located at the top of a hill, with a very nice square in front of it. It has shops close by and lot's of places to eat something. Very close by there is a pedestrian street full of restaurants. Very nice.

For a building that is nearly 100 years old it has been nicely maintained. It is located just off an open square, and is open to the public. Our guide told us that it is now largely used for meetings and workshops.

The Praia city hall is located in the main square. One can visit the interior. Salao Nobre, the hall where city elders meet, merits a brief visit. The outside staircase is very interesting. The highlight was an exhibition of photographs capturing the most beautiful and picturesque sites in Cabo Verde.

Praia's City Hall was built in the 1920s and overlooks Albuquerque Square. The building caught our attention because of its beautiful colonial era design. The front door was open so we stepped in. We were surprised to find information pamphlets on a table inside the door that explained the history and purpose of the building -- they were expecting tourists! We were allowed to walk in to the main atrium to take a look around. This building is gorgeous. During the work-week it is still in use for government business. I definitely recommend you take a look.
