for the historian

we learned about important people and their names, their backgrounds and how they became the chiefs. Good walking area but not much shade, so take an umbrella along

Please go to the Three Chief's Statues and look, straight in the eyes, Sir Seretse Khama the first president of Botswana. He will tell you about the power of Love! Investigate about his life, his love story with Ruth (his British wife) who changed Botswana History. Hope is the center of strength...

It's a really great place to visit. The monument is impressive as is the the space. It's a nice place just to sit and chill in the shade. The guides are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. One of the guides, Samuel, is an expert etymologist and can tell you about the etymology of just about every country on the continent!

I had the opportunity to attend the Fallen Heroes Commemoration at the Three Dikgosi Monument. I found it to be a powerful symbol of the people who worked to found the country. The monument itself is imposing, and the plaza would normally be more open to visitors. I enjoyed my visit very much.

At least something photogenic in the city :) Interesting background with the roof of the High Court building. Nice and very talkative guard.

The statues represent an important segment of Botswana history so it's important to see the statues and learn why these men were important.
