Mixt feelings; bad roads and works at several places, so bad that even our new Landrover Defender had some difficulties with all the mud. But very friendly people at the gate and lots of animals to see. We were here for the second time in two years and never have we seen so easily water monitor lizards has here, and eland antilope for exemple.

The site of different species of animals in the area. I saw zebras and others 😁. I would really recommend this place while you in Gaborone. I feel you can to connect with nature, the quietness, the animals and its well taken care of. No litter around the place. I would love to go back for camping now 😊. The entrance fees are reasonable as well

We saw lots of animals. For ex. we have never seen so many nile monitors. And even very close. We had a 2W drive car and that was sometimes tricky though (it had rained a few days)

Not much to see and the staff were not helpful at all. Found the reserve very neglected. We spent about 2 hours there and littering seems to be a big problem. Lots of empty beer bottles etc. Saw a few aminals, but really nothing much else

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, unfortunately some reviews mentioned you can walk around which was our plan but it’s not allowed so we paid our taxi driver to take us around.
It’s been raining recently so the colours were amazing. Animals look so healthy and thriving. Everything was bright green with rich red earth.
Probably the best value adventure in Africa

The Gaborone Game Reserve is an excellent place for people who don't want to or can't take game drives in the north. Except for the Big 5, there are many African animals roaming free in natural surroundings but all within the city limits. because there are no predators, picnicking is allowed and you can bike or walk the trails. Take time to look and you will see and hear many wonderful birds. This is a great and cheap way to spend a day in Gaborone.

The setting is perfect .... right in the heart of Gaborone, a wildlife reserve. Sadly, the place has hardly any animals worthy of a game drive. The picnic spots are good ... one can braai for the group... unfortunately, the monkeys are a menace ... pouncing on the picnic food.

the reserve still holds an undisturbed natural appeal.the picnic sites are the only facilities which seemed foreign but even they blend in with the whole place.

small game reserve, which certainly has potential as a nearby learning center, even for local citizens. However, the entry fee is so very low (approx. 10 pula equivalent to about US $ 1.-), you may not expect any proper maintenance. At the more remote spots, of the reserve, human garbage is accumulating, and it really is a pity, to see nothing more is done to improve on the nice collection of endemic species (Zebra, Eland, Ostrich, Warthog, various bird species etc. My advise: Clean up your act, increase price dramatically, so you can have some proper improvements done, invite your local pupils to learn about the beauty of Africa!

Well we just loved this, paid just 30 Pula which is just over two pounds in GBP. No real facilities apart from a picnic area, but we just drove round randomly on unpaved but decent tracks. No big beasts to be seen, but plenty on impala, zebra, ostriches, warthog, kudus, quail, oxpeckers, maribou and a few others I've forgotten. A splendid couple of hours.

Park fees should be 120 for Non Residents and 30 for residents. Then you also have to pay 50 Pula for a foreign registered vehicle and 10 Pula for a local registered vehicle

I drove a personal vehicle so I’m not quite sure of the distances. I drove the reserve for 3-4 hours, but covered many of the same roads several times. I believe the information you are looking for may be found in the Reserve’s website.
Do I need to have my identity card and need to book weeks prior my visitation day
how many species can I find in the game reserve (number of species in the game reserve, endangered and those not endangered)??

Hello
The entrance fees is very nominal.
Each vehicle is charged P20.
Each Adult is charged P20 and kids unto 16 is FREE.
This is for Residents of Botswana.
Non-residents pay a lightly higher fee, but again is very nominal from my enquiry when I visited last time. But Unfortunately I don't have it with me now.
