Wear a poncho or rainwear as you will get very wet. Experience of a lifetime.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 May 2023

- A DVaughan, Canada292 contributionsBeautiful but really expensive for no reason. The first thing I want to say is that they charge $50 US per person to enter. I think that is way too much ! There is no justification for it. The falls are amazing, huge, loud, and breathtaking. If you plan on visiting on your own rent a raincoat from the vendors on the other side of the street. Luckily our taxi driver suggested it and we listened to him. Even with the raincoat we were soaked, the last 3 viewpoints were just solid mist that came down as a torrent of rain. Then you get to the bridge and you turn back.Visited June 2023Written 4 July 2023
- Terry MHamilton, Canada4,647 contributionsQUITE WET BUT FUNOn the Zimbabwean side, the best of the views were the Devil’s Cataract, the Main Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. It was very wet as you headed toward the Eastern Cataract. The amount of mist on the Zimbabwean side negatively impacted pictures. Entry fees was $50 US. While high, you do see more of the scope of Vic Falls. They have to improve the entry flow to the park...tortoise like!Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 9 July 2023
- Geoffrey DGreater London, United Kingdom5 contributionsVictoria Falls - the smoke that thundersMosi-oa-Tunya is the Zimbabwe name for the Victoria Falls, which means 'the smoke that thunders'. Our visit was in the dry season, which means the water flow doesn't cover the full 1.7km width of the falls. Nevertheless, the obvious power and force of the VF is still incredibly impressive and justifies being one the 7 wonders of the world. The downside is the cost of visiting VF via Zimbabwe and Zambia. In addition to the cost of travel and hotels, you are required to pay on arrival at Zimbabwe airport a visa charge of UD$75pp, then US$50pp to enter the falls on the Zimbabwe side and a further US$20pp on the Zambia side, which for two of us was a total of US$290. If you choose to have a guide, you will need to employ one in each location. Having said all that, the once in a life time experience is very special and still worth the visit.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 15 December 2023

What a wonderful experience, so happy I was able to make the trip with my family. The falls are absolutely exquisite, from the rock formations, the multiple rainbows and rain forest. The Falls are totally breathtaking and amazing. The park itself has good paths and is wheelchair accessible. However, it has been said it previous reviews that the entrance fee for “foreign visitors” at USD50 is a rip off. There is no proper queueing system, no printed ticket, no map given.. just a hustle through the gate and off you go. Wheelchair hire from the car park across the road another USD30 .. be prepared to part with your cash to add this to your tourist bucket list!! Worth seeing but …

The Victoria Falls are stunning. The cost of entry for tourists is outrageously exorbitant. We were stunned by the $50 USD entry fee, simply to walk along the falls.
This contrasts with the $7USD fee for locals.
Come forewarned of the entry fee.

I've seen the falls from both sides, & while this side was best, it was a bit overpriced. 50$ for tourists, fine, but once you've seen the falls from 1 or 2 spots, you've seen the falls. They are nice, but it's expensive, with regards to this.

Bonjour,
J ignore le prix en janv 2020 mais voici les prix en août 2019:
10 min , environ 50 $
20 min, environ 80$ . Vous avez des formules que vous trouvez directement auprès de votre hôtel. C est très bien organisé. Bon voyage
Please tell me how to book a waterfall full moon tour. Can I join by reservation on the day or the day before? How should I make a reservation? Where is my reservation?

Is it recommended to get a tour of the falls- or just wander around yourself?

We went with family and had no problems at all. You have to pay to get in anyway, so I would not pay even more for a guide. Opposite the entrance are some souvenir stalls - spend your money there instead!

Hoping to explore Victoria Falls and Okavango area by vehicle in Feb 2019. Does the rain seriously interfere with travel in Feb? How are the roads then - hope to drive from Maun to Katima Mulilo.

I personally have not driven, used shuttle services, but I have colleagues who regularly do road trips between Botswana and Vic Falls in a small sedan. They say the roads are fine, though am not sure of rainy seasons.

I was injured while on our trip (this past March) and had to see Victoria Falls in a wheel chair. It was NOT easy. The paved path (flagstones, mostly) is rough, narrow, and very steep in places. There are frequent steps, too, although they are not high steps and there are usually no more than 3 or 4 steps at a time. What we did, at the advice of our hotel, was to hire a burly young man to push my wheel chair. He was great! He and my husband were able to get me everywhere I needed to go. And it was SO worth the money. The falls were spectacular!

Hi Sheffield.
Yes many game drives around Livingstone. Never the less you can try coming to Zimbabwe side where you can try one of our leading private game reserve in Victoria Falls town. The chances of you seeing the big 5 here are at list available.
Zim side also provides with the largest National Park in Zimbabwe on a 2 hrs drive from Victoria Falls town with varieties of game parks suitable for game drives and or camping. Good campsites available for you.
Not forgeting about the Zambezi National Park along the magestic Zambezi river where a game drive conducted in the park is a true enthusiatic game of challenge to see more game. Plenty of game but with thick vegitaion making more a sport to locate some game.
Chobe National Park in Botswana becomes another alternative though depending with your vissa applications. Recommendations on Chobe trips are always good and pleasing.
Looking down to see you in March for activities to add up to this.

Take a cab, affordable, or use the services of a local tour company which driver then also serves as a guide at no extra cost.
