Some of the prices here are a bit high at first, however please remember that these are just a starting point and do NOT necessarily accept it unless you are happy with the price and you can afford it. Personally, I do not like haggling and you can feel a bit pressured, however remember that these vendors are not wealthy and they are trying to simply get by and make a living: if you feel it is fair then don't try bargain too hard. That said, you are expected to refuse the first inflated price. In my opinion, this is the most reasonably priced place to buy curios, souvenirs and assorted commemorative Zimbabwean stuff. It is considerably cheaper than buying in Newlands, Curio Shops and especially cheaper than in Vic Falls or any of the airports.

Shops stocked with basic Zimbabwe tchotckes, many that can be found throughout Africa. But bargains can be had for a skilled negotiator. Better than the prices pay at Out of Africa in Tambo. Make sure you bring small denominations of USD. There is a neat used bookshop, especially if you are interested in learning about Zimbabwe.

Its an average market, the people there have a tendency of not taking a no for an answer so if your not buying something don't raise their hopes

Interesting vendors selling local African Art & Craft items in this flea market and a Good place for bargains. Hagglers could get great bargains as vendors are mostly friendly and allure tourists with their enterprising approach offering discounts. But for our local friend, we would not have known of this shopping area & were lucky to visit with him, he was popular among the vendors!, we struck some good bargains on souvenirs.
Good place for nice crafty bargains at reasonable prices.

One extremely rude vendor who tries to bully you into paying her price, absolutely disgusting, always pay less than half price if paying USD cash!!!

For us it has not been worth going there. It is mainly clothes and shoes and some books. I asked for a very used paperback book and the seller asked 7 dollar! When I walked away he said it was negotiable (of course), but if one has to gaggle for every small item and at such a high asking price, too much time is lost. There is a parking space and it is not full but we were there early. I did not even ask prices for the handicraft, most were small souvenirs and prices too high.
Not worth it, unless you want to buy some clothes or shoes in a market.

This is a big local shopping center in Harare.
Not for fruits, vegtable, foods or electronic device
This center is good to buy sounire, handmade goods, from different material like animal bone, wood, stone ..
If you know, most of zymbabwian prople are Shona and these kind people make different stony sculpature . If you decide to buy a very specific sounire, these stony sculputre is the best choice and this market is the most famous shops related to it.
The seller say the fee about 3 to 4 times more than real price. Try to get discount.they accept about 70% disscount!
You can also find local dress, shoes but quality of these are not good

I wanted cheap magnets, got cheap handpainted magnets. Besides that, there are a lot of clothes and electronics, but we weren't looking to buy any. The sellers are a bit more insistent than in other areas of the town, but I did not find it bothersome. So if you want a quick souvenir, go there.

Sitting atop of the old car park at the back of Avondale Shopping Centre, this daily flea market predominantly sells clothing but is also worth a browse for local music, crafts and secondhand books.

And is there anything interesting to do around this area after 5pm on a Saturday?
