As with other overseas military cemeteries, this place is immaculate. Staff are very knowledgeable and can tell you about many of the people buried here. Highly recommend if in Tunis. We were able to catch a cab just outside the gate to go back to the hotel.

I had the distinct pleasure to visit and pay my respects to those from the Greatest Generation who made the ultimate sacrifice to defeat evil in WWII. This is a must for all Americans who might have the opportunity to visit Tunis! It is only open on the week days! The curator is fantastic and the grounds are superbly maintained!... More

A very humbling and beautiful place, immaculately kept. Reading the names, epitaphs, and, the ages of those interred here lends one a sense of the costs of war. There is a long wall inscribed with names of those lost whose remains were never found. The beauty and tranquility of this place is due to the detailed and considerable level of... More

Closed on weekends. Truly a moving and must do visit if you are an American in Tunis. The mosaics depicting the scheme of the war as well as the words etched in English, French and Arabic make this distinctly North African-- but the layout of the cemetery is definitely American (much like what you would see in Normandy). You can... More

A peaceful oasis of calm. Even if you are not American this place is worth a quick visit, especially if you are a history buff. It's beautifully maintained, but it is worth highlighting that it is closed at weekends and on all US and Tunisian holidays.

This is a small oasis of green and tranquility in the suburbs of Tunis. The grounds are immaculately cared for and the marble stones gleam bright white in the sun. There is the most spectacular and massive mosaic depicting the N. African and Med campaigns from WWII. The detail and beauty is amazing. Even without a loved one at the... More

A truly beautifully maintained war cemetery, visiting here is an unforgettably moving experience. I spent several hours here, and left feeling a special bond with those who gave their lives so we could be free.

After living in Tunis for a couple of months I didn't know what to expect when visiting the North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial located in Carthage about 20 minutes from the heart of bustling and often messy Tunis but it was certainly a pleasant, moving and elegant surprise and an excellent tribute to the US soldiers laid to rest... Visited here with friends, it was a lovely visit. The staff couldn't do enough to make our visit special. The guide was very passionate about the cemetery. It was a very sobering visit. Well worth it. The place is immaculate.

A beautiful and dignified resting place for those who served. The North African campaign is a part of WWII often overlooked, but for American troops it was the trial by fire and training ground that took unproven units and their commanders and taught the lessons necessary to succeed in Normandy and on the march to liberate Europe.
