This is the entrance to the Medina, just one simple gate. Before it are the fountains and the Victoria Hotel. There are several benches and stools where one can sit down to enjoy the ambience. Nothing especial or ornate about this gate!

My hotel was five minutes walk from this historical monument Bab al Bhar (Sea Gate) also called as Porte De France (Gate of France), this gate separates old city Medina with new Town, surrounded by shops, street food joints and adorned by a fountain, this is an important square also a meeting point for young and old. The Gate is decorated with aesthetically designed lights and looks fantastic. My guide told me that this was the point once the waters of the sea touched long long ago.

This is a nice city gate set in a nice square. It is worth a look at and is set adjacent to one of the entrances to the medina. It does have a few hawkers as it is a popular locay=tion so be aware of that when you visit.

Outside one of the entrances to the Medina, this gate itself is not worth the site but it marks the intersection of the primary street, vendors, etc
Striking entrance to the much more worthy Medina.

This is a major meetup point for locals and all taxi drivers know this place if you want to get here. Also called Porte de France, This marks the end of the Avenue De France and the start of the Medina of Tunis.

It s the heart of the city..near by shops and restaurants...facing the old souk
I really like to walk around though most of the times bothered with the exchange agent or baggers...
Mi d thieves don t go there with fancy bags gold or diamonds

This is the entrance to the souks. Its nice. People congregate around here drinking coffee and sweets. The water fountain is nice. Great place to sit and people watch.

It's just a historical gate in the middle of the city. It's just before you enter the Medina. Around the gate is the square where people sit down and relax.

We enjoyed the view from the Hotel Royal Victoria. This monument is centrally located. The square is cleaned every night. It is fun to sit at a cafe and watch people go about their business.
