When the German colonialists came to East Africa they made Bagamoyo their first German East Africa capital between 1886 and 1891. It is a place of considerable significance to world history, both as an entry point for Arab and European missionaries, explorers, and traders in East and Central Africa, and in the history of the infamous slave trade.

We booked a day tour with African Pangolin Safaris. They were very responsive and organized a tour for us only one day ahead of our inquiry. It was a wonderful experience! Our tour guide and driver was Yunus. He is very knowledgeable of both animals and plants and the Mikumi Park and area in general. The road and traffic from Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi is very busy and crowded and the travel takes some time and effort - Yunus also did that part like a pro, always calm and careful. I wholeheartedly recommend African Pangolin Safaris, great agency and great people!

We had an opportunity to enjoy a 4days tour in Mikumi NP and Udzungwa mountains NP. And i have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Mansoor is a great guy who organised everything perfectly for us, communication with him was a pleasure. Living and service inside of the Mikumi's park was great. We felt very comfy and all the people were very nice to us. The biggest thanks goes to Yunus - your guide. He's a very friendly person and realy took care of us for all the time. He's got a great feeling for the animals so he showed us exactly what we we wished to see. It was unforgettable to see a natural behavior of all the animals in Mikumi NP and also we loved to swim under the waterfalls in the rain forest, all alone without the tourist!
