An odd mishmash of mostly quite worn exhibits but plenty of stuff to read covering slavery, neolithic man, Tanzanian crafts and painters, Nyerere info (of course), even a bunch of old presidential cars. Part of the complex is under long term renovation but there's certainly space for further exhibits. An interesting afternoon, as long as you're not expecting some fancy exhibits or interactive content.

I travelled across the city to find the shop closed. The windows were painted over and I was told it was closed down. I could not find any signs to say the business had moved elsewhere. Perhaps I should have had the good sense to phone first.

The service at the shop is exceptional, friendly staff but they don’t bother you when you are looking around.
I got a bronze neck lash for my wife that i absolutely love! I also got a small painting that was very different to the typical “ Tanzania tour operator “ painting that are all over Tanzania.
Here i come with my decent safaris Tanzania tour operator guide who tell me about this shop to buy anything which is best and so suitable for me.
I forgot important think that about this shop is that every item has a price tag. Mainly i have been to several other placed that work out a special price once you have selected all the items you want, and i don’t like that.

Very cute little shop in the mall, but much pricier than the local markets. If you just have a few minutes to look around, they have almost everything together in one place.

This shop is situated in a small mall and is easy to find. The shop has a large range of excellent quality carvings and sculptures. There is a small range of local and touristy clothes. they have jewellery, gifts, artwork... All at great prices.
One of my favourite things about this shop is that every item has a price tag. I have been to several other places that 'work out a special price' once you have selected all the items you want, and I don't like that.
The service at the shop is exceptional, friendly staff but they don't bother you when you are looking around.
I got a bronze warthog statue that I absolutely love! I also got a small painting that was very different to the typical 'palette knife' painting that are all over Tanzania.

It is located in Quality center (earlier Uchumi). We visited there in June 2016. We wanted to carry back home memoirs/ gifts for friends and family. This place has loads of them, claimed to be handicraft items. You may get better items at cheaper price but this is most easily approachable.

This is the most amazing center with a variety of articles to choose from earrings, clothing, paintings, house decorations, articles for kids, handbags, you name it! Customer service is impressive and prices are really reasonable. All articles hand made, natural ethnic products. While I was paying, I mentioned how much I love the Tanzania culture and people and all of a sudden a Masai came ready to take pictures with me if I wanted to. I said yes, it was magical! I was even converted into a Mama Masai!

Very large diverse souvenir store in a less than interesting shopping center. Good as a one stop shop on way to airport to get the a few locally produced items. Prices obviously a little higher than local market but reasonable.
