WOW. We are absolutely amazed at the work that Team Kilimanjaro put into our Mount Meru trek (Jan 2017). From the first contact we had with David, we were impressed with the amount of detail and expertise he provided, his recommendations, and the time and care he put into developing our itinerary. Thank you David ! We had the BEST... More

My husband and I just finished a 4 day Mount Meru hike and while the hike and park itself were lovely we did have some issues with the organization of the trip. In summary here were our pros and cons: Pros - beautiful scenery and views (especially of the sunrise and Mt Kilimanjaro at the top) - many wildlife sightings... More

We were advised to climb mount Meru as training for the Kilimanjaro. We booked a individual tour, but it is not really individual as a ranger from the Arusha Park needs to accompany you due the presence of animals, so, so we had 5 groups coming together (each with their guides, cook, porter, etc), we end up being lucky as... Mt. Meru is a great option if you have less time or money than needed for Kili. With 4 day and 3 nights, the huts on the route make for a great trek experience. Bring warm clothes and ask you tour operator about any additional gear (head lamp, sleeping bag needed) and bring some of your favorite snacks and drinks... More

Charity climb with the family. We are fairly experienced mountain walkers (not rock climbers) and this helped although our group included people who had never been at altitude or coped with some of the exposure this walk presents on the last day. Raw statistics are this is a 30 mile walk with 11800' of ascent in total (a certain amount... More

Our family of 6 Americans (2 40+ adults, 18, 15, 15, 11 year olds) did the climb in 4 days. While the lodges are not glamorous ( no running water or soap at saddle hut) they are suitable for the event. Bring warm easily drying clothes for the stay at lodges and keep all your clothes in a plastic bag... More

We completed Meru on 4 day 3 night climb in March of 2016. The trip was really really great. We didn't go with a tour company but rather had help from our hotel near the Arusha National Park called Africa Amini Alama which is also a clinic and school program for the area. They put us in contact with a... More
