Off-season visit when the park is really sleepy. Met only few tourists. Nice views over the lakes. Reasonable entry fee, no need of local guide or driver in the car. Can do it on your own. Saw giraffes, zebras, wild pigs, monkeys.

We went for a walking safari of 2 hours (would have been 3 but we cut it short due to rain). Most people seem to go to Arusha National Park as a ‘warm up’ before going for their ‘real safaris’ out in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro...More

I visited Arusha National Park in Tanzania as the first park. The animal population is less compared to the greater parks of Ngorongoro and Serengeti. If you have less time around Arusha, perhaps you can go for this. The giraffe population is impressive.

The scenery is amazing, mountains, woods and platos.. But if you want to see lots of animals, its not a place to go. I would call this place a giraffe park, as this is the most seen animal here. I saw some monkeys, zebras and...More

If coming from Europe or at least colder areas directly to Tanzania, Arusha National Park is good place to start your safari. The park is rather small, but cool and easy driving. The craters and sceneries are beautiful and you will experience tropical forests. The...More
