I would not recommend going on a Friday as most things will be closed, though it was nice to wander the streets while they were quite empty (especially for photography) most shops were shut.

The casbah was amazing. It offered great views, some touristy shopping and lovely gardens. We were privileged to have a tour through it with a local friend.

Visiting this place gives you the chance to feel the spirit of old Rabat and to go through the narrow streets of the ancient madina. Also you will get the chance to see wonderful views of the ocean and vast green fields around rabat.

What a lovely place to spend some quiet time. The grounds are lovely, the ruins of the old fortress interesting. Even though there were a lot of school groups there on our visit, there was still serenity to be enjoyed.

We visited the Bab Oudaia, and were happy to see that not only was it open to tour, but you could see upstairs on a private tour for only $2 a person. This gate is a beautiful example of Islamic architecture. The rest of the...More

Worth a visit for the ocean view alone, and walk through the blue streets. Garden area is lovely with relaxing areas to rest if you want. All in all a nice walk with great opportunities for photos. Also a great place to "people watch", lots...More

Very scenic area, lots of history which plenty of "guides" are wandering around and wanting to tell you about the place (obviously will ask for a small fee after).

In our opinion, Kasbah of Udayas is by far! the first attraction in Rabat. Walk starts from the gate leading to cozy Andalusian Gardens, and continue through the narrow streets to a view terrace at the top of the hill. The blue colored houses are...More

Have some tea and a pastry while enjoying the wonderful views over the estuary of the river and out to Sale. The Andalusian garden is especially worthwhile.

How do I get to the Kasbah, is there a tram or bus? Would it be a good place to rent an apartment for a month?

The golden tulip hotel is nearby. you could walk from there. Within 15 minutes walking distance of the Kasbah there are many hotels. There are also very fine hotels in the Medina across the street from the Kasbah. The... More
