I would suggest a guide for sure to help you maneuver the narrow alleyways that are shared with donkey carts, cars and motorbikes. You will get the full experience of the Marrakech media. The feel is different in other places like Fez and Essaouri.

Go during the night to get true feeling but watch your belongings as pickpockets everywhere. Haggle big time for anything.

We started by having a cab take us to a place in the Medina that we wanted to visit, but he could only get us so close. He pointed the way, and off we went. Well, it was soon obvious that it would not be so easy. We wandered one direction then another. Some guy we passed saw us again... More

As two women walking through the square and souks we were harassed and grabbed at from the minute we entered the square. I agree with the other reviews that you have to be in the right state of mind to manage the market traders with grace, however, it was relentless with no opportunity for respite.

Maybe I'm just a wimp, but the snakes on the street and monkeys on chains really ruined this for me. It's pretty easy to get lost here, and nothing much worth buying

Place where you must go, be careful about "fake guide", wants only money from you. Very interesting place. You must try fresh orange juice.

It was fun walking through the medina. We always felt safe. A map is very helpful, along with a quick tutorial from our riad owner, as there are lots of different ways to go. Lots to look at and buy if you want. There's an ATM handy as well. The people are friendly, not too " pushy" for the sale. Tracey

This was an amazing day at the city of Marrakech. It was like stepping back a few centuries and living at that era. The small streets, the architecture, the smells and the people were perfect. It has a special touch that makes the medina so different

Visiting the Medina of Marrakech is like you have arrived in Morocco. By evening there's more excitement and NOISE. Try the choices of street foods!
