Be prepared for this, go past the first stalls and into the depths of the souk, great fun bartering and came home with some bargains. There are plenty of other things to do in Marrakech but this is a must.

Basically, the traditional morroccan artisan goods are stunningly beautiful and you will probably open your wallet and buy something. However the bargaining and excessive high pressure to buy something makes this a less than pleasant place, in my opinion. Also, it's a maze thats hard...More

The Marrakech Souk is an amazing place. Be prepared to have every sense tantalized! The colors, the energy, the smells it's all exciting. Make sure you watch your surroundings, it's easy to get lost in the maze! The people are wonderful!

One of the main attractions of Marrakech this warren of lanes is confusing but easy to navigate after a day or so. Thousands of shops grouped by type (spice, metal work, leather etc) all largely selling exactly the same things. Worth getting off the main...More

The souks of Marrakech seem endless and the winding streets make it difficult to find your way. That said, the sights are exciting and interesting. There is a wide variety of merchandize available and even though it is often very hard to tell what is...More

I went to the souk with a friend who intended to have a henna decoration done. She found the design that she wanted and negotiated the price and paid the woman prior to anything being done. We found out later that this was still a...More

It is definitely possible, while it will be difficult. The souks in the Spicy Square are in an extremely congested area where there are steps that have to be climbed in order to get into many shops. The souks in Jemaa El... More

Tangier was a nice contrast to the bigger cities we visited. Also, Chefchaouen, the blue city, was well worth the visit--beautiful. We were only there for a day, would have stayed overnight if I had to do it over again.
