They make one of the finest leathers in the world here and it's really nice to visit in the morning.

I found this tannery more interesting and bigger than the one I visited in Marrakesh. The smell was strong so the mint offered by the shopkeeper helped . I found watching from the balcony of the shop was different from watching it from the ground level. Both were good and offered different perspectives. We were able to find the tannery with... More

Our guide dropped us here and while it was very interesting don't be filled the intention is for the owners to sell you leather goods. I went for the photography experience which is amazing but unless you want leather goods keep your hands in your pocket and look only . It's amazing to see handmade tanning in this day and... More

Best is to accept an offer from people in the street to see observe from one of the shop's terraces. Tough life they have, spending the day bending to work the leather in cold water with smelly ingredients (they say they only use natural stuff, no chemicals). If you do not buy anything, do not forget to tip the guide.

This quarter of the Medina exudes people watching, colors, sounds, chaos and more. Walking around you are captured by the energy and the verve of the place that has been around for centuries.

My friend and I visited the tannery and spent a lot of time up on the terrace watching the workers and taking photographs. It was AMAZING and I could've watched all day- very very cool to see the process. When we entered the "no-pressure" collaborative space though, our informal "tour guide", while friendly, definitely overcharged us. Maybe some of the... More

This place is where they produce leather traditionally. The leather quality is great if you want to do some shopping.

I was pleased the our guide took us to the Tannery section of the Medina. The shops are built with balconies overlooking the tanneries so you can actually see the men doing the work. The shop employee/salesman was very knowledgable about the process, the materials used, etc. Of course, his main goal is to sell leather products but it was... More

Doubtless your guide will take you there and worth a look, but beware, after a short look, there is a long sales pitch.

Its not to every one, the smell and visuals are really strong. Maybe a good idea for people to be more conscious on how they consume leather.
