This is a 'must see' ticket in Fez. The carving and tranquility of the place gives a good idea of what it must have been like to study here. The mosque inside the Madrassa gives you a chance to see inside what are other wise closed cloisters in Morocco.

It was a great moment to watch the cratftsmen work inside this beautiful medersa. The traditional design is beautiful.

The architecture is stunning and very serene with rooms around a courtyard with a pool, similar to other madrasas but more exquisite. The woodwork and plasterwork are comparable to the bouinania in meknes, though the tiles are more impressive here.

You can't see much beyond the entrance and central court, as the Medersa rooms are not accessible to tourists. The engravings and decorations are amazing, as in most religious buildings in Morocco, but after having visited the entire building at the Madersa in Marrakech, this was a disappointment. The ticket was only 3Euros, though.

In the middle of the souk of the Medina, in an unattractive building this stunning place is hiding. You can walk in to the main square and look at the beautiful interior and calligraphy. Don't miss it!

It might not be a large place but the carvings themselves make it worthy of a visit. You enter from the bustle of the souk and are thrown into an oasis of calm.

This school was very nice, old and I liked it even more than Qirwan. It is also in Old Madina. This one can be entered by non-muslims.

The medersa is very grand but there is not much to see. People entering the medersa should be aware of Missouri and Mississippi - the guides inside - as they demand money for giving you a 5 min talk on the history of the medersa. Missouri gave us a 5 min talk and requested payment. We offered 20dh but he... More

The size of the Bou inania Medrassa is very impressive. It's very large and exquisitely decorated in the best examples of Andalusian Moroccan high art.

This old Madrassa is only a few minutes walk from Bab Boujloud and you might even miss it if you walk by too quickly. It is stunning inside, and the only place non-Muslims can see the old architecture inside the madina. The price of 20 dirham (10 for children) seems very high, considering all you can really see is the... More
