It´s amazing to see all the detail, the work, the colors and the magic that unfolds in the city. You walk around and get to learn about all of the arts and crafts that represent the country. It feels as if you traveled through time, the only way to get the real felling of the City is to visit the... More

Lovely little part of fes the old city has a huge market with multiple little streets with various items for sale including jewellery, etched metal ware , candles etc. The wonderful thing is the vendors are not pushy or loud and allow you to walk around and browse at your convenience without pushing you to buy. At various points there... More

The Old Medina really is an assault on the sense and there are countless ways to explore the footprint. You will almost assuredly get lost and meet a variety of interesting people. I would recommend a guide to ward off solicitors and to get an initial feel for moving around but after a bit you can get the hang of... More

This is one of those places that cannot be done by yourself with a map! Hire a local guide to help you navigate the streets, explore the different crafts and you will not regret it. A must see is the tanneries where large vats are used to take the hair and flesh from the skins, and they color the hides.... More

The Medina is a view into ancient Morocco. Narrow alleys and many shops and restaurants. But if you get off the main streets it's easy to get lost. Often there are large crowds and when combined with various aromas, mules and the carts carrying various goods it really stimulates the senses. There are faux guides everywhere ready to separate you from... More

I found it too maze like. Narrow paths. At night many areas are not lit well. No women and children at night. Some locals are pushy. Won't go back.

Plan to spend considerable time enjoying this very unusual place. The tour books and pictures do not do this place justice.
