The main boulevard of Algiers oozes its French colonial past. Without a doubt the busiest street of the city, it's worth walking and spend an hour. Like most places in Algeria, it could do with some renovations and clean-up.

This Boulevard is quite long with nice colonial style buildings both side and also other style. it has enough things to offer you when you are walking a long. i think better to walk there after visiting Bardo Museum.

Our hotel (ABC hotel) was close to this. It is full of stores and restaurants, very lively and worth seeing. It is somewhat dirty, though, like most of Algeria, with many broken sidewalks.

This is probably the busiest street in the whole of Algiers - an endless number of shops and cafes. You’ll probably end up there because it’s so close to many of the city’s major tourist attractions. However, I’m wouldn’t describe it as a place of beauty!

Well worth spending time here to dip into both shops and eateries alike. A long long avenue, bustling and busy with endless opportunities and competitive prices compared to Europe so easy to find bargains.

A very nice boulevard to walk, shop and drink...many shops of art and souvenirs, you can walk and meet people as friends...you should walk at Didouche Mourad Rue if you visit Algiers and you will like it for sure.

This is the old part of the city but it's a must visit. Street food dotted all over the place, shopping opportunities as well. I found the sports apparel stores quite reasonably priced. The Metro stations are not too far, therefore, it gives you an opportunity to hop on to see the botanical gardens, the Casbah and other historic sites. I found the most amazing restaurant in what seemed like an alley-way that nobody should dare venture into. Some areas are not so clean and could intimidate you. DO NOT WORRY. Algiers is a safe city, therefore, do not be afraid to freely explore.

Waking the length of this tree lined avenue you will pass the Milk Bar and Tantonville Cafes ( Both targets during the liberation struggle ).
