Beneath the tall monument to the Martyrs of Algeria is the subterranean museum of the Martyrs. Here one will find the history of Algiers outlined and illustrated. There is a good selection of artifacts and tableau showing the type of activity that took place including torture - so beware!

Even if you are not aware of the history of Algeria, once you visit the Memorial du Martyr just to see it for itself, you will find the great museum immediately below the huge monument where you become well aware of the history of Algeria, provided you read French / Arabic. The view from the place is excellent and you... More

Well it is the tallest and most beautifull structure in Algiers. Below it you can find the war museum of the algerian revolution that hosts all the weapons and pictures of the revolution.

We received a personal tour of the museum by the resident historian whose English is impeccable and love for her topic is evident. We strayed into African literature and history, while learning so much more about the Algerian Revolution. Do this!

Unfortunately was the tower not open, so we had the fantastic view over the harbour and the White City not from the top. But nevertheless, the view is brilliant.

No thing to do , just the monument is good but there is one mobile site over it make the view not good. There is inside it one museum for the revolution of Algeria contains a lot of interesting things. The museum is working till 7 PM and even on Friday.
