After a full day of fun at water park decided to stop to see the cross, since the kids had never been there. They weren't only amazed by the huge cross and scenery. The hummingbirds were amazing! There were several! Great gift shop also. Kids...More

Uplifting and spiritual experience. Beautiful views and a relaxing place to visit. Narrow rock road to get up to the cross, but a wonderful experience once you're there.

§ Took 2-3 photos of the cross from the car in the parking lot before being approached by an employee. Our (running) vehicle was one of only two in the entire lot, but he was apparently concerned about everyone parking 'just so' for folks coming...More

We drove by and stopped here. There is a museum with a video that tells the story of this cross. A must see.

Thunder and lightning that day. What a sight! Hope, Charity, Peace, and Faith are inscribed at the base of the cross. The view is perfect.

This was well worth the drive! I was coming from Giant City State Park, so it was about a 35 minute drive. Not bad. The drive there, through the Illinois Ozarks, was beautiful. Once you get to the cross, the 360 degree view is amazing....More

I love coming here. I love the ride up to the cross as well. This is definitely worth the ride/drive.

We visited the Bald Knob Cross of Peace on a beautiful fall Monday. The views are magnificent and the informational plaques describe the landmarks on all sides. The visitor center was closed, but the plaques gave us a good overview of the Cross's history.

The property was privately owned and for the most part the cross privately funded. The property owners decided to put it there.
