All I can say is . . . GO!! soo beautiful! The walk along the path may be difficult for those with mobility issues, but there is a tram to make it easier. AND, the walk is worth the work. The waterfall is wonderful!

Beautiful gardens full of Hawaii vegetation. The hike is rolling hills that lead back to a waterfall. Plan to bring cash and take the ride back out. Plenty of places for pictures. Opportunities to learn about island life. Recommend!

This was probably my favorite place on Oahu this time. Peaceful, colorful, a leisurely walk through the gardens - it was rejuvenating! Take your time and don't hurry to the falls! A young man employee at the falls said he's always sad when people hurry there and don't see the magnificent gardens.
We bought tickets online the day before. We carried a picnic lunch with us and ate just off the trail. I took so many pictures of vibrant flowers - the experience was a rainbow experience! Visit the village area - we got to talk to a woman making a tapa cloth - very cool.
All the little side paths are worth exploring. We were not bothered by insects at all. We were there from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take water though and sun protection. While it's very shaded there are sunny areas too.

The botanical gardens and arboretum are gorgeous. There are paved walking paths that make it an easy and accessible outing. There are various cultural enrichments as well to learn more about native Hawaiian culture and housing. A must - if you have a means to get there!

A local recommended this adventure + we were happy we went. Go early (we got tickets online and days in advance, for 10am) because it got super busy by noon. The hike into the waterfall was a steady gradual climb but not hard. So many beautiful flowers and much history along the way. The hike in is a mile so two miles round trip, but coming back out is nothing it’s mostly downhill except the short climb out of the falls. There were too many people in the water for our liking and you have to wear a life jacket that they give you so we passed on getting in but I’m sure it was a nice way to cool off. The fall is not bursting at this time, very little water flowing. Lunch here was delish and the resident peacocks were entertaining while we lunched. Enjoy!

The views in this park are incredible. There is so much cultural information amongst the vast Hawaiian Flora. It hardly felt like I was hiking. I could visit this place every time - it’s beauty is unmatched.

The area was expansive and beautiful. Since the area is so dense with plants, there are many mosquitos, so keep that in mind.

I think the best part about this visit was that we really took our time with the gardens. My fiance and I were in here for at least two hours before we got to the waterfall. There are so many side trails and things to see that are not on the main path that I would not have gone to see if my fiance wasn't so determined to find all the birds on the guide.
I see the allure of the waterfall, but it was honestly the least memorable part of the stroll for me. Getting to see the history with the gardens and all the different ways this part of the world is working to conserve the many species it houses, now that was beautiful.

The walk to the falls is absolutely beautiful! So many different trees, plants, and flowers. The falls itself is beautiful too. They have life jackets at the falls for you to use and lifeguards on duty. There are also benches you can sit on to watch your loved ones. There are restrooms and changing stalls at the falls. Where there is water, there is mosquitoes so bring bug spray. This hike will not disappoint!

ensure you have a few hours to take a gentle stroll up to the waterfall. The water there is clear and deep enough to swim. There are toilets and changing room at the actual falls. My one concern would be a couple of invasive species have been let go (strange given their plant knowledge). Good to have the option of a gold kart for those needing help with transport.

Before you enter, there is a very small eatery. Their fries are excellent!
