Blowhole and (non-existent) Heart Shaped Rock
Sep 2021 • Couples
The heart shaped rock is broken / doesn’t exist. Still a nice hike. Park at mile 38.5 (not 38) unless you’re looking for more of an adventure. Go in the afternoon if you want to see a bigger geyser.

Free Nature
Sep 2021 • Friends
This is cool if you’re into hiking and cardio. It was a nice, free view. Just another scenic area in Maui if you’re into nature.

A cool, free experience
Aug 2021
Worth the stop! Be prepared for a short "hike." It's probably 10 minutes each way, but the path is steep and rocky. I saw people doing it in flip flops, but a more sturdy sandal/tennis shoe would be preferable.

A Must on your trip
Jul 2021
Our family loved the Nakalele Blowhole. One of the highlights of our trip to Maui. It was a pretty good hike to get there but so worth it. Huge waves crashing against the rocks and the blowhole would constantly spout out water. Definitely a must for your trip.

Absolutely stunning!
Jul 2021
"Absolutely stunning! The climb down was harder than the climb back up. Going down, you don't have anything to grip. So worth the trek down to see the blowhole up close. We couldn't figure out where the heart shaped rock was though.

So Beautiful!
Jul 2021
We had such a great time driving up through the north part of the island and witnessing the powerful beauty of the blowhole. The drive itself is fantastic with stunning views, and the blowhole is a short hike down a rocky path. My husband was even able to capture the rainbow that formed in the mist of the blowhole! Highly recommend to anyone able to make the short but steep hike.

Excellent Views
Jul 2021
This is a must see hike down to a rocky shore where water shoots up through a hole similar to a geyser. The area is windy, the parking lot is unmarked, and it is a short hike over wet, steep, rocks. Be prepared for these conditions.

A beautiful view, but small waves, so not much to see at the blow hole.
Jul 2021
We went here near the middle of July; with the small waves, the amount of water blowing through the hole wasn't very much.

The views of the coastline both directions made the drive worth it, anyhow.

Beautiful View of Blowhole and Cliffs
Jul 2021
The views from the top (just a short walk in from the parking lot) are amazing. You can see the blowhole as well as some stunning cliffs to your right. You can walk down to the blowhole, but it is a little rocky in parts so shoes would be better than flip flops. It can get windy at the top, so hold on to your hat! When you are done, you can buy some very moist banana bread (and a few other things) from a vendor at the lot.

Cool sight
Jun 2021
find parking off the road and walk down a rocky hill to see this, you dont have to go all the way down to see as you can stop someowhere on top after a walk and watch it. there are also nice coastline views from the top. Based on the way the water is moving and the wind is blowing from moment to moment the blow hole can have nothing coming out to a nice water show.
