Great place to bring the family for a short (or long) hike. We tracked up pretty far (with 4 kids under 5) and got to dip our feet in the water while the kids earned a well deserved splash n' play in the smallish puddles...More

This was a nice hidden gem in the Iao Valley. Spent about 3 hours there walking around all the building and ponds and outdoor gardens. This was a very nice easy walk on some beautiful grounds.

There are memorial areas for each race that made Maui what it was. Immigration to tend the fields came From all over the globe. There are ponds and paths and if you go up a little farther to the pay parking / entrance it will...More

The actual nature center wasn't open when we were there but we took a walk across the bridge and up the trail. It was nice and peaceful except for the biting bugs. I got bite about 12 times and I still have large welts 5...More

Iao valley is beautiful, lush full of green and if you hike into the valley beware of flash floods. The walk to the needle is short and paved and easily accessible to people of all ages. It's a gorgeous 1/4 mile loop. Get there early...More

An older garden, in part a monument to the early Japanese settlers that worked in the sugar cane fields. They have restrooms, covered tables and Bb-q grills. We noticed locals there using the grounds. A nice place to walk through and have a picknick lunch....More

This is a great place to visit when it gets too hot on the island. Iao Valley is a rainforest and I think there are 169 steps up to the monument. Small, serene and beautiful little paths loop around tropical gardens and a beautiful stream....More

Can visit the gardens, some walkways still closed. Substitute toilet facilities. Still beautiful .
