We drove to this while using our Shaka Guide driving tour app. It was interesting to see. There is a swinging bridge there but it was raining so we didn't spend much time out of the car.

An interesting stop, but really not that great. The drive is through what appears to be a lower income area, and there is really hardly any parking. There is a historical marker with some interesting info, a swinging bridge like the one in Hanapepe and...More

Of the beaten path and once you get there, there is not much parking. The "Ditch is an ancient aqueduct that appears to go through the mountain. There is a marker indicating its historic significance, but not much more to see. There is also a...More

I remember trying hard to find my way to the Bridge, and you drive through a lot of lower income housing areas, where people have tarps and broken down cars scattered about. The area itself wasn't as picturesque or impressive as I thought it would...More

Arrived there after seeing the Hanapepe swinging bridge not too far away. This is in a more remote area that is not very touristic. The ditch itself is not really attractive. The bridge next to it is cool but my wife thought it did not...More

Here you'll find an interesting but unexciting monument next to the Menehune Ditch, but an AWESOME swinging bridge. Don't confuse this swinging bridge with the Swinging Bridge in Hanapepe. I like this swinging bridge better. This bridge is a functional local transportation tool. While I...More

Not much to see here but, if you are in Waimea and need a quick diversion, drive up Menehune road a short distance to this location. A swinging bridge was rebuilt after Iniki, across from the ditch. There is also a plaque, erected in 1928,...More

There is a mystique to the lore surrounding structures purportedly built by the menehune. Whether or not there was a civilization of menehune is debatable, however archeologists date the ditch as over 1,200 years old so it was built by ancients and is of remarkable...More
