It was a charming stop off . If you were in the area. We happened upon it when a former local was revisiting it. It was interesting to hear the history. It is a small , but worth a quick look.

It's not a destination you would add to your travel plans. We passed it twice without knowing it, but finally did stop and found the sign. The history is interesting. The interpretive sign needs some work.

This is an out of the way place to find but once there, the serenity and views are worth the trip. It's amazing that such an area exists such a short way from the city.

I thought this bit of history is interesting. No one knows who built it. The Ali'i used it and kept everyone else out.

We found this by accident as we were taking a back road from Poipu to Lihue. It has amazing history and legend. Folklore says it was originally built by the mythical Menehune people of Hawaii. It was used by Hawaiians to catch and cultivate fish....More

Saw this from the air on various helicopter tours, but never took the time to go and find it. It was worth the trip, when you read the story behind it. This was one of the earliest cases of Aquaculture where the ancient Hawaiians raised...More

It's pretty much just a roadside stop with a placard and its story. If in the area it might be worth a visit. There are nice views and the pond's history is interesting. There are no trails to access the pond. The closest you can...More
