At the north end of the island with a single road going to and from it from the Kuhio Highway, this peaceful beach with small waves is more suited towards wading and relaxing, with the Kilauea Lighthouse off in the distance.
Nice calm beach where you can walk out what feels like 100 yards and still be standing. Great for kids, but also for couples if you want a relaxing beach day with some nice views, and are just looking for a no drama ocean (very...More
Don't have to hike down a long path to get to this north shore beach....and it is protected by a very large offshore reef....so it is safe for all to swim and snorkel. Got to swim with the turtles here. Some shade if you want...More
Nice beach. Area roped/partitioned for snorkelers. Water clean. Nice. Not crowded.
Not a wide beach. Lots of driftwood.
No food trucks, concession stands. Restrooms off the beach.
Recommend a visit.

Very cool beach for snorkeling and great for kids because you can go out a ways while standing up. Breakwater reef creates a calmness in the bay. Look for those huge turtles and you swim. Nice beach for relaxing.
