If you're not staying in the north shore of Kauai this beach can be a hassle to get to. It's 45 mins from Kapa'a, 1.5 hrs from Poipu and parking can be difficult if you don't go earlier in the morning or later in the...More

Parking is awful but you will want to do this. There is a small road that allows about 10 cars to park. You can identify this road as being the only one without a sign that says "No Tunnels Parking". We preferred going about 2-3...More

It is a bit of a walk to get to this beach and it is SO worth it! This was my first time snorkelling. The water is very clear, the inner reef is protected from big waves, and there are tons of fish and corals...More

We parked at Haena State Park and walked down the beach to get to Tunnels. It wasn't too crowded and there was a nice assortment of tropical fish. We like to snorkel in the late afternoon, and that may have helped get us some elbow...More

I came to Tunnels about 9 years ago and was blown away by the uncrowded beach and amazing reef. I couldn't wait to get back to snorkel! But this time, the beach was very crowded - which isn't so bad in itself. However, there were...More

Great beach for snorkeling. Parking is limited so get there in the morning. The beach is a mix of sea shells and sand. There is a great reef with lots of fish. Views are beautiful. You can see waterfalls from them

While this beach can't be faulted for it's beauty getting to it does pose problems for visitors. There is a terrible lack of parking. Most of the area is private residences , of course that means no parking along the highway or on the private...More

We had a great time here swimming and snorkeling with our kids. The walk is a bit far (we parked in the parking lot which is about .25 or so from the reef) because there was no more parking available closer on the road. It...More

This is one of our very favorite beaches on Kauai. Sadly, parking has become increasingly difficult over the years to the point now that we will probably skip this beach in the future. Neighbors used to open up their property for parking but it seems...More

Great beach that was extremely family friendly. Lots of space to either snorkel out to watch critters or just stay in the shallows and play with the little ones. There are a couple of good scuba spots that are easy shore dives from the beach.
