Ho'opi'i Falls has become increasingly popular over the years and for good reason...who doesn't want to jump off a waterfall in Hawaii?! It is pretty easy to find, the hike is lovely and not difficult, and the reward is awesome. It is important to note that there is no longer access to the second falls that other reviewers are mentioning.... More

The trail starts off a residential street. I suggest downloading the AllTrails app to get directions to the trail and a useful map of the trail itself. The trail starts with a breathtaking view of a farm with mountains in the background. It will make you envious that you do not live there. The first waterfall is about a 15... More

This hike starts not too far from Kapaa. As you go down the street with the trail head look for the last house on the left - right after the last house on the left and before the long row of trees is where the trail begins. It is an easy hike - very family friendly. You walk down to... More

We had a hard time finding the start of the hike, but if you are on the road- it's the little opening after the last house on the left- right before the long row of trees. And we didn't see a gate or anything- just asked a local. When you get to the bottom of the first hill- head to... More

This was a great hike for all abilities! The scenery was lush. The start of the hike was a challenge to find look for the cars parked on the side of the street.

Not a lot of people know this trail. We just learned about this through a local's recommendation. You can drive to the general vicinity via navigational system. However, there really is no sign that points to where the path/trail is. You just have to look for parked cars and from there scout the area for a trail. It is easy... More

Ho'opi'i Falls is actually two falls with a hike alongside the kapaa stream, the first being very early on in the hike after you navigate the first knotted rooty stretch. The second being at the near end if the trail, of which you can either hike to the overlook or head down to the base of the falls. First, be... More

We followed a couple into the falls who had been there before and luckily we did because at one spot you didn't know which way to go. There is no signs telling you where to go and even at the beginning it doesn't say Hoopini Falls. It wasn't as big as I was expecting but the kids still enjoyed going... More

Yes a very hard find. I followed a jogger and dog to at least get to one of the falls. I am staying close by he keeps saying look for the red and silver fence sorry I think people in Kauai are colour blind from the rainbows lol. Going to try again to find the mystery swinging rope or I... More

It must be nice to live in a neighborhood where this hike is just "right there!" Taking off from the neighborhood parking location, this is a gradual downhill hike until you reach the river & waterfall(s) area. We enjoyed the more popular & bigger waterfall, but on the hike back up, we took a side trail and found the second... More
