The husband found this online while looking for things to drive to in our Jeep rental - and so glad we decided to go. The beach itself is accessible through the lava fields, the "paved" road was only well paved for 10-15 feet at the...More

We read the reviews and thought our non 4 wheel drive car could make it if we went slow but it was much farther than expected so we turned around and left. Very bumpy "road" if you can call it that.

The road is nice down to this lovely beach. There isn't nearly enough parking. The sand is beautiful and the waves are awesome. Had a blast with a boogie board.

Rental cars will get beat up on this road. Super rough road - fun experience if you like to off road. Beautiful beach. Stinky restrooms. Bring provisions.
