Watching nature carve out new landscape is awesome. Such a rich experience to see it in person! I don't know if it's open yet after the most recent volcanic activity, but it should be on everyone's bucket list.

I would say 3 to 4 hours of you don't want to feel rushed. My recommendation is to book a night at the National Park Lodge (crater view so you can see the lava glow in the dark) and then spend the followon morning on chain... More
