Hiked the, approximately 7 mile, trail around the lake today. Easy terrain, but distance was enough for a workout. Took our dog; she loved it too. Sunny and shady parts, some bridges, quiet, peaceful hike! Would highly recommend.

This park is a great resource for locals. I've taken my kids there for swimming and playground fun. I've also gone for hiking. Most recently my bird club lures me there with easy bird watching. Some people bring their dogs, but I'm not sure what the rules are for that.

From the couldn't be more disinterested gal staffing the "I don't want to help you" desk to the laughably poorly marked trails, this place is a bit of a joke. Odd with a nice nature center and some upscale wooden boardwalks radiating from it. Once you get 100' away it is lightly walked and again horribly marked trails. Not hard... More

Nice NATURE place to visit in Athens. I love to go there and walk for hours. Fresh air, beautiful place to run by yourself or with your loved dog!

The admission price is low, but you should still stay for hours! Bring in a picnic lunch or snacks for a comfortable visit. Two playgrounds to choose from as well as sandy beach alongside lake. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Simple day trip getaway for a great price. Boat ramp, dog park, Frisbee golf and hiking trails too.

I took my toddler to the beach and it was very nice. Really great place for families for a cheap weekend activity.

There is a nice beach with lots of picnic areas and fields to play games. They also have 4 dog parks, 3 can be rented for an hour for one dollar. The 4th park is free. They all have shade trees and a picnic table.

The park offers hiking, frisbee, playgrounds, sports fields, paddling, swimming, picnicking and beautiful outdoor special occasion sites. The park is always well kept and has so many options, there is something for everyone. It's well worth the small entry fee.

We took a day trip to Athens this past weekend and spent hours at this park. There is a $2 admission fee, but it is so worth it as there is tons to do. You can fish, rent a kayak, have a picnic, play on the playground, and swim at the beach. My kids and I absolutely loved this park.
