We stopped here after visiting the ruins. Our tour guide had recommended it. We enjoyed the place a lot. We spent about an hour there and saw a wide variety of tropical birds that have been rescued from the pet trade. There were various macaws, toucans parrots and other species. Most will be released to the wild. You should make a point to visit here if you’re in Copan Ruinas as it’s very impressive.

Had wondeful 4 hours at the reserve. Birds all looked well cared for. Signs around park in Spanish and English. Birds feed at 1200 so be at the cafe where you’ll be surrounded by macaws. Had refreshing dip in the river at the reserve.. access bit basic. Thoroughly recommend a visit here. Great value for money and a short cheap tuk tuk ride from centre of copan.

We enjoyed this more than I thought we would. The birds are really great to see, and I appreciate the mission of the place -- it started by taking in birds the owners couldn't have any longer. It's nicely laid out, and the admission seemed to be a fair price for the nice experience. We took a tuk-tuk to & from town and that worked out great. They let you be photographed with some of the birds at no additional cost, which was pretty fun.
