    Great family fun day!
Gumbalimba was so much fun for our family! We had people from one to sixty and everyone loved it! Our tour guide Wesley was great and my kids loved the monkeys. Some of us also did the zipline and had a blast! Highly recommend!

This place was really fun. My 85 year old mother and my daughters zip lined and had a blast. The people working the zip line were fantastic. The monkeys and the mackaws were absolutley amazing The grounds and tour was beautiful. Kudos to our tour guide Kerry Borden. We were very fortunate to have him as a guide Very knowledgeable well spoken young man . This tour was very much worth it.

    Amazing monkeys and more!
This is one of our favorite places when visiting Roatan! It is the BEST monkey experience on the island!! If you live the Capuchin monkeys, this is definitely the place to go!! Gumbalimba also has McCaws and iguanas. The park is beautiful and you have the opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of the island. With your admission is use of their pool and private beach! You won’t be sorry you visited.

    Great guide
This was an optional excursion on our Viking cruise. The experience is guided. Our guide was great. He was our guide from the time the Gumbalimba Park bus picked us up at our port, to the time we returned to the ship. On the way, he shared facts about the island and the people of Roatan. Once we arrived at the park, the first portion reminded me a little of an elementary school field trip but the second part was awesome. We were able to get up close with the monkeys and macaws. There were some handlers who took pictures of your experience. There were tip buckets where the birds and monkeys were and I was so impressed, I would have definitely left a tip, yet we were required to get a locker ($5.00) for our purses, which had my money in it, so I couldn't tip. This was required because of the fact that the monkeys may take your belongings. I understand that completely, but if I had it to do over again, I would take a little cash in my pocket. Also, watch out for ant hills. My mom didn't realize she was standing in one and it took three of us to get all the tiny ants out of her shoes and off her legs. Just watch where you stand. There is a small store on site as well as an open air café.

    Wonderful experience! Highly recommend!
August our guide was amazing! He took his time with us, answered all of our questions and made sure every person on the tour felt included and got to do everything they wanted! In my son’s words “I really liked our tour guide, he should be a comedian!” He kept us laughing and not only showed us all the beautiful wildlife, he taught us all about the plants and their many medicinal uses. The animals were amazing and getting to hold macaws and capuchin monkeys was a dream come true! They are a wildlife preserve which makes it so much better knowing they rescue and take such great care of these animals!

    Great experience
We had a great time and highly recommend for people of all ages. The walk might be a little rough for seniors. August was our tour guide and he was fantastic. Couple of complaints. The air was out in the bus and that was miserable. The drive from the cruise port to the park was very rough. But over all we loved the trip.

    Monkeying around!
Fun tour with August. Delightful guide with lots of great information. He made our tour a lot of fun. We did a ship tour from the Celebrity Constellation and were lucky enough to have August assigned to us.

    Great Visit
We had a great time meeting the monkeys and macaws! Our tour guide, August, was fantastic. He provided a wealth of information. One caution is to avoid bringing a bag, as even our relatively small one was considered unacceptable for the tour.

    Nature and animals up close
We had a small tour with just myself and my 5 family members. Mario was our tour guide. He was knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. We learned about the trees, plants, and a little history of the early people who lived in the area, in addition to seeing some monkeys and macaws close up. There is a chance to have a picture taken with a macaw which we didn't care to do. I did have a pic taken with a capuchin monkey and that was a fun experience. I wasn't expecting the tail around the neck. Overall it was an affordable, fun afternoon.

We had such a fun time at Gumbalimba! My husband and I finally decided to give Zip-lining a try. Our friend Cleve said this was a good park for first-timers. And because we could walk from our vacation stay it was perfect. I was fairly nervous about heights, so it was great to have a local tour guides recommendation for our first time zip-lining.
We decided to hit the park pretty early, and on a day with no cruise ships. It worked out just great. We were the only two on our zip line tour, and our young guides were so incredible encouraging and fun. They took photos for us, and made sure we were secure and safe. The park itself is gorgeous and we started at the top of the jungle and took the eleven zip lines down to the beach. It was really fun, and because some of the zips are at different speeds you could really get a feel for being in control. We saw the macaw and the monkeys during our zip, so that was an added treat.
We also joined a small group…I think five other folks? To see and hold the monkeys…or rather have them land on us! It was a riot! The animal keeper was really good with them, you could tell he understood their needs, and appreciated their different personalities, the same when we went over to see the Macaw.
All in all a great morning at this beautiful park.

Gumbalimba was an NCL excursion for us. We took the van from the port. It was well organized. The guide provided information about the local culture on the 25 minute drive up to the sanctuary. Gumbalimba is a beautiful sanctuary and the encounter with the white faced capuchin was amazing.
They have a nice visitor center for refreshments and souvenirs.

Really nice park to see the animals and walk around. Just beware if cruise ships are in town. If there are no cruise ships you can enjoy this park with not a lot of people around with a great pool, beach area, and the snack stand had great chicken tenders and fries. If cruise ships are in dock it will be crowded here.

My husband and I recently toured Gumbalimba Preservation Park with Wesley Henwood. It was an excellent excursion and Wesley did a great job answering questions, explaining the features and inhabitants of the park.

Toward the end of the tour, my husband experienced difficulty walking, due to a chronic but sporadic nerve issue in his legs.

Wesley Henwood went above and beyond to assist my husband in getting back to the park entrance, finding a comfortable place for him to sit and helped him onto the tour bus to return to our cruise ship. Wesley accomplished this without inconveniencing the rest of the tour group. He was considerate and respectful, without ever making my husband feel self-conscious or burdensome.

We have taken cruises and tours all over the United States, Europe, Asia, Central and South America. I can attest that the knowledge, concern and courtesy that Wesley exhibited is rare. I couldn’t be more grateful that Wesley was our tour guide that day.

My boyfriend and I visited on a cruise excursion. It was a great time and a lovely park. Got to hold macaws and interact with the monkeys. Only complaint is the excursion details showed sloths at the park. However, there are no sloths at this park. But the guide, the hike and the park itself was fantastic!

We visited as part of a cruise excursion. We had an excellent guide (August) who was very informative and entertaining. His English was outstanding. We had plenty of time to take pictures with the monkeys and the McCaws. There was a bit of walking, some stairs, and a suspension bridge, but there was an option to take a golf cart. Really appreciated that we could rent a locker and that the picture package was reasonably priced.

Wow, what a place. The monkeys were jumping around and having fun, birds and lizards roaming free. It was a great couple hours spent. They even pick you up and drop you back off at hotel.

My wife and I took this excursion from our cruise boat. The best we can say is that this experience was middling. There are many other groups and you spent a great deal of time waiting for the group ahead of you to clear. It is not a nature or preservation park despite its name. The only thing they have for animals are iguanas, macaws and monkeys. They spend a lot of time taking turns putting the birds on your shoulders and having your picture taken. This is repeated at the monkey stop. It takes a good deal of time. We were expecting a variety of animals and more of a preservation angle. That was disappointing. I think they're better options if you're visiting Roatan.

A wonderful preserve. If you are fortunate you will get August as your guide. He was informative, polite, and incredibly helpful. The preserve is fantastic. The animals are rescue animals and not in cages. They roam freely and interact with tourists at their leisure.

We took this excursion off Regal Princess. Was a great excursion , monkeys, macaws gardens and suspension bridge. Only 2 things would have given it an excellent! The ride from the dock was 90minutes and late leaving. The main issue I have is that it is advertised as EASY! Wrong.... we had 2 1/2 hours of climbing rock stairs and going over rough terrain and tree roots. It was definitely not easy , especially for older folks. It should have been listed as moderate to strenuous in my opinion. If you have any mobility issues or are just older, beware!
