The centerpiece of the resort is The Black Pearl, Roatan’s first and only golf course. This 18-hole, par-72, 7200 yard championship golf course was created by world famous golf course architect Pete Dye. The course starts at the ocean’s doorstep, rises into the island’s rolling foothills, then takes golfers on a wild ride back to the seaside clubhouse. It features one of Dye’s signature island greens, and 14 holes offer stunning vistas of the ocean and the Meso-American Barrier Reef. The Black Pearl is not only a haven for golfers, but for the vast wildlife on Roatan as well. With more than 100,000 plants and trees, the golf course is one of the largest sanctuaries of plant and animal life on the island. This eco-friendly golf course is one of only a few golf courses in the world to use a special strain of grass called Seashore Paspalum. Dye Designs were pioneers of the use of this salt-water tolerant strand for tropics-based projects, known for its environmental compatibility, ease of irrigation and maintenance, and translucent green hue. Its appearance, juxtaposed against the turquoise Caribbean waters, inspired The Black Pearl’s tagline: “The Best Greens and the Best Blues.” The Black Pearl also features state of the art practice facilities including a lighted driving range, ocean front warm-up range, and a practice chipping green designed to create an atmosphere of game-improvement, one that encourages guests and residents to enhance their skill sets while honing their games on one of the region’s most playable layouts. This is a semi-private course with a myriad of membership options available including temporary resident memberships, corporate and executive memberships, and yearly memberships. The Black Pearl is a world-class golf course that perfectly complements Pristine Bay’s luxury resort and real estate options.

This Robert trent Jones Jr. golf course is outstanding. It is very much like a resort course, but there are a few surprises that make better players think. The variety of holes from the island green to the scottish links style par five on the hill make this truly a golf adventure. Crocodiles in the ponds make it even a... More

I went to play to the Black Pearl and was surprised by one of the most challeging golf courses I have seen. The course had fresh greens and drive ways very well maintained and has a wonderful design. My game went smooth with the initial 6 holes holes up to hole No. 10 where I felt tyhings started to get... More

Black Pearl uses every club in the bag and more important, there is a vast amount of FUN about it all. Forgiving with wide fairways and rewarding with pinpoint accuracy. The course is in immaculate condition and the greens are perfection. Gorgeous ocean views and a soothing tropical breeze to keep you cool and refreshed. George Lanham, the Director of... More

Very nice Pete Dye track. While challenging the course is wide open so the high handicappers can still enjoy it. My caddy, Jason was outstanding. The pro shop is lacking inventory but my rental clubs were really good. Once they complete the clubhouse this will be a 5 star option.

Three of us played the course on a recent family vacation. What a great time the course was very challenging with Island greens and checkered fairways. With a 30 mph wind It was difficult at times but worth every penny. Jump in the awesome pool when you are finished. Not a sole on the course maybe five other foursomes. Make... More

The golf course is relatively new and well maintained. The staff is great and the other facilities-pool, tennis courts abd restaurants up to expectations. Since there is some development going on, you can see construction bits and pieces, but overall the view everywhere is amazing, the villas for rent are posh and the whole atmosphere at this property is one... Returned to play the Black Pearl after four years and was not disappointed. Much of the "others" remain a work in progress, such as the cart paths and even the pro shop, which moved downstairs but is still too small for a course of this stature. The course has matured nicely and despite the recent (including the day of play)... More

visited there on cruise ship and price quoted by club was more when we arrived. Caddie did not speak good English which made understanding difficult. We ended up behind a threesome of members and we were a foursome. We waited on every hole behind the slowest most rude people we have ever met on course. Being a member does not... More

Thank you for playing on Roatan’s only golf course – your business is appreciated. We have a magnificent Pete Dye designed golf course, and as such we can become very busy. But we try and make sure that everyone finishes in an expected time. We do have experienced Marshalls monitoring the pace of play and assisting all players. Please do... More
